$500M from UNSDG for Halong Bay: A Commitment to Sustainability
Arsuprema, in collaboration with Thaian Holdings, is delighted to share a groundbreaking development that marks a significant step forward in the fight against climate change and the pursuit of sustainable development. This milestone reflects our collective commitment to addressing pressing environmental challenges and promoting long-term ecological balance.
Through our visionary Art For Climate initiative, we have secured an official commitment of $500 million from the UnASDG, a globally recognized leader in advancing sustainability goals. This substantial funding will be dedicated to implementing impactful ecological and sustainable projects in the iconic Halong Bay region, situated in Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam.
As one of the most treasured UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Halong Bay holds immense ecological, cultural, and economic value, making it a focal point for global conservation efforts. This commitment not only underscores the urgency of protecting such irreplaceable ecosystems but also sets the stage for transformative initiatives that will inspire both local and international action.

Comrade Cao Tường Huy, Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, presented a symbolic gift of Halong Bay to Mr. Hans Joachim Radtke, Ambassador of the Intergovernmental Organization UnASDG in Vietnam, November 8th 2024

Advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
This funding aligns with the vision of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and supports several key objectives, including:
- Goal 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.
- Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources.
- Goal 15: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems.
With these funds, we aim to implement impactful initiatives to protect biodiversity, promote renewable energy, and preserve the unique ecosystems of this iconic region.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Halong Bay is more than just a tourist destination. With its stunning limestone formations, diverse marine ecosystems, and breathtaking landscapes, it is a natural treasure – but one that faces significant challenges.
The region is grappling with pressing environmental threats, including rising sea levels, pollution, and deforestation. This funding will enable us to:
- Restore coastal areas affected by erosion and climate-related impacts.
- Promote green infrastructure, such as renewable energy projects and sustainable practices.
- Engage local communities in the sustainable management and conservation of natural resources.
A Collaborative and Innovative Initiative
This project would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners and allies. We extend our deepest gratitude to Hans-Joachim Radtke, whose advocacy has been instrumental in securing this commitment, and to our partner at Thaian Holdings, Phillip Mücke, for their dedication and vision.
At Arsuprema, we firmly believe that art and innovation can be catalysts for transformation. Through the Art For Climate initiative, we are leveraging creative and collaborative solutions to address environmental challenges in a meaningful and sustainable way.
